Σύμφωνα με το Γεωδυναμικό Ινστιτούτο το επίκεντρο του σεισμού εντοπίστηκε στον θαλάσσιο χώρο 68 χλμ, δυτικά/νοτιοδυτικά του Αγίου Λέοντα Ζακύνθου.
